USES FOR WHEAT BELLY FLAX WRAP RECIPE

Have you seen the Wheat Belly FLAX WRAP recipe?
I think the original version had more flax but whatever the case, I'm really thrilled with this recipe! I originally found the basic version over on Spark Recipes.

I'm even more excited about
the yummy ways I've figured out
how to use them...
and wanted to share them with you! :)

NUMMY Chocolate Orange CREAM PUFFS - Amazingly Simple!

This is a WONDERFULLY simple cream puff recipe I've used for many years! I found it in my well used Betty Crocker cookbook that is older than I am, haha.  My teen son just made some for our family dessert night but this would be perfect for holiday gatherings as well.

Induction Gluten Pie Crust

This is for those who need it really low carb. Not glamorous but it works, haha. It sort of has the feel of a graham cracker crust.

Our Favorite Coleslaw

This is our family's favorite coleslaw recipe.  We double it for our large family. If you don't like the sweetener used, simply switch it out for one you prefer :)

Yummy Quiche

Naturally low carb too!

Quiche is so yummy and versitile!  My whole family loves it.   If you don't like certain veggies then just replace them with ones you do like!  This particular method is low carb and not watery.  It is yummy warm or cold straight from the fridge.  You can cut up individual portions (for us that is 1/4 of the quiche) and freeze in baggies.   I like to make two-four at a time so I can freeze some.  You could even make this the day before Christmas.   Here is the basic recipe which you can adapt to your own preferences...

Fresh Salsa

1 pint of fresh salsa, YUM!

This is a recipe from www.pickyourown.org.  I have streamlined the recipe here because the formatting for this one at their website was a mess (the recipes for the larger canning batch are great though..they have a pdf if you want to save the file. )  This is a great recipe and very flexible.  Good to know so you can have sugar-free salsa or fresh salsa on demand.  If you want to lower the carb count just omit the tomato paste which is what I do because I prefer it that way.  If you don't COOK it , its like pico de gallo.  I often have these ingredients in my fridge or freezer so it is easy to make a batch if I'm out.  I enjoy eating a bowl of this with the cheese 'crackers' recipe I have posted.

Muffin in a Mug

A high fiber, low carb muffin

Muffin in a Mug (also called a MIM or Muffin in a Minute but I cook this one longer, lol) is a great treat when you are in a hurry, only have a microwave to cook, or need to add more fiber to your diet.   This is a very flexible recipe, having hundreds of variations.  After reading many of them on the Atkins forum, I decided to try some additions.   This is what I ended up with...

Scott's Soccer Practice Bars

We found this recipe on a bag of some WF baking product and loved it.  One of the things I like about it is that it does not require corn syrup nor sweetened condensed milk that many of these sorts of recipes usually use.  Sometime I'll make these again and add a picture for you.

Buttermilk Spice Cake

I just made this cake for the first time yesterday and it was a hit!   Moist as can be and a great fall treat!   I paired it up with a homemade butterscotch topping/filling which turned out to be a wonderful combination  (though you can use it with other cakes as well).    I've posted the recipes for both.   If you are avoiding sugar, this recipe is not for you right now, lol.

Oatmeal Cake

This is a very versatile recipe which can be a dessert, snack, or breakfast.  It is very filling and can be eaten plain or in a bowl with milk.  Great warm or cold ...good road food too!  We made this for our trip to Colorado last year.

Cheesecake

Here is another favorite of ours...I don't know where it came from.  A fellow low-carber gave it to me years ago.  You can use sugar or make it sugar free as we do.   It can have a crust or nut topping but can also be left plain.  Best made the day before so it has time to fully set.  Read through the directions thoroughly before beginning.
