Gardening Update
We are, of course, back from camping. Everything survived except the Oregano. Some things, like the tomatillo, seemed to thrive on the low watering while we were gone. The basil nearly died but thankfully we returned before the leaves got to the crunchy stage. They were just terribly wilted but perked up after plenty of water.

Seeds to Harvest Garden Update
Today, we are packing up for our camping trip to the Oregon Coast. This year, we'll be gone for nine days, so I figured I'd better post an update. By the time we get back, all our plants could be dead!

Garden Challenge Update
As you know, I joined Olivia's Garden Challenge and it has been great to see what other's are doing and be able to get feedback from them as well. Be sure to head on over there and see all the bounty! Praying for poor Olivia would be a good idea as well since she got poison ivy on her eye! UGH!
Now that we are getting some hotter days things are really starting to grow around here. We had a couple days of lots of rain (amazing how fast something grows in just one day after a rain) and then a lot of sun.

Gardening Challenge Update
I have more pics than usual for this post. I guess because everything is coming alive and all the green makes me feel like sharing it :)

Garden Challenge Update
A week ago I bought a few small plants from the garden center. Yellow pear tomatoes, Romas for making salsa, yellow squash, and zucchini (since the squash we started from seed looks like it is about to die).

Let the Gardening Begin!
OK, so the gardening should have begun a lot sooner since we are mostly starting seeds, but we never really get going soon enough! As you can see, we are using those expandable jiffy pots. The kids get a kick out of watching them 'grow'. This year we are using this plant light, but it is too hot and directs light mostly in one spot. I think I'm going to switch back to the florescent bulbs.

USES FOR WHEAT BELLY FLAX WRAP RECIPE
Have you seen the Wheat Belly FLAX WRAP recipe? I think the original version had more flax but whatever the case, I'm really thril...
